Total Motion NW | Bellevue Feldenkrais The Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method® has been around for over 50 years, since Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984) originated the method and began teaching it.

It's based on principles of physics, biomechanics and how the human brain develops and learns. It goes beyond conventional therapies to improve physical functioning as well as overall well-being.

The Method® is often described as an educational process that teaches you how to learn from your body. As a form of movement therapy, it gives you a means to take charge of your own care and improvement.

not cookie-cutter

Feldenkrais addresses the whole person instead of only focusing on specific symptoms

The Feldenkrais Method® is a form of therapy that helps to reduce pain, improve performance, and speed recovery from injury by improving the natural way your body moves.  It can be done as a stand alone therapy or as a compliment to any other treatment.

Feldenkrais will teach you

How your body was designed to move

How to move efficiently with less strain

How to have effortless, good posture

How to be more balanced & coordinated

How to walk more effiencently

And much, much more ...

Discover the difference

Throughout or lives we acquire patterns of movement and posture. That's one reason we can identify a person from a distance simply by observing the way they walk. While some habits serve us well throughout our lives, others do not. In fact, many of the physical limitations and discomforts we experience may be unconscious habits we practice day in and day out.

Taking time to recognize your movement habits and return to healthy ones improves not only your body, but also your ways of thinking, feeling and acting in the world.

The lessons are effective for anyone, regardless of age or physical ability.
